May Apple

Phodophyllum, also known as May Apple, can be poisonous if ingested. 

It contains a toxin named Phodophyllotoxin.

This toxin can be used topically to treat 

molluscum contagiosum and genital warts.

This specimen was found in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia.
